MHOW: A 19-year-old tribal girl was gang-raped on ITI campus on the outskirts of Dhamnod town, Dhar district, about 55 km from here on Monday night. A case was registered against three persons at Dhamnod police station. This is the second such incident after December 12 when a minor tribal girl was abducted and raped in Badwah tehsil of Khargone district.

Dhamnod police station sub-inspector S R Soner told TOI that the girl, a resident of Khandwa Road in Indore, had gone to Mandleshwar. While returning, she was at Dhamnod to catch a bus when Roop Singh, son of Man Singh Gujjar and a resident of Shejgaon village falling under Karahi police station, got acquainted with her. He lured the girl into an Indica. Driver Mukesh Ramlal Gujjar and Roop Singh's brother Suraj Gujjar accompanied him. They took the girl to the ITI campus in Dhamnod where they repeatedly raped her. They later dumped the girl near the bus stand.

The girl approached the police and narrated the incident. The police are investigating the matter.

In a similar incident, 15 persons had abducted a minor tribal girl on December 15 and held her captive for 12 days. Although eight people have been arrested, only one person has been booked for raping the minor.
