MUMBAI: The Powai police recently arrested a youth allegedly for raping his neighbour's 10-year-old son on Monday. The incident occurred around 8.30pm at Ganesh Nagar in Powai when the boy was going to his friend's home.
The accused, Suresh Betha, hails from Bihar and resides in the same locality where the victim stays with his parents, the police said. Medical examination conducted on the victim confirmed the sexual assault. Betha (28) runs a laundry in the locality.
The police are probing whether Betha had committed similar offences in the locality. He has been charged under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC.
