INDORE: In a brutal incident, a drunken man hacked his wife to death in Kshipra area here on Friday morning.
The Indore police informed that Subhash, a habitual drinker, often used to have arguments with his wife, Amartiyabai, 45, over petty issues. On Friday morning, Subhash attacked his wife with an axe while she was busy washing utensils. He hit her four times - twice on chest and once on neck and back. Their son, Gokul, who was bathing, heard the screams of his mother. He saw her in a pool of blood and tried to snatch axe from his father. He sustained head injuries in the tussle, the police said.
Gokul immediately called EMRI 108 emergency service and informed the police. Amartiyabai was rushed to a local hospital where she was declared brought dead. While the police were on their way to the victim's house, Subhash was heading towards police station to surrender. He was arrested on the way. The police have also seized the axe used in the killing.
According to the police, the couple generally fought over petty issues and Subhash had threatened to kill his wife many a times. He has been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC.Link: Man hacks wife to death
