Kochi: The police on Sunday arrested a 63-year old migrant labourer from Tamil Nadu for raping a five-year-old girl at Santhigiri in Kalamassery area on Saturday. The man as Chandran, a native of Velayudha Palayam in Karur district.
Police said a medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual assault. “We’ll be producing the man before the court on Monday”, said Kalamassery SI, M.B. Latheef.
Chandran was staying next to the girl’s house. He first lured the girl with sweets and chocolates.
One day, while the girl was playing in the courtyard of her house, the man took her to his house and raped her, police said.
The girl’s parents, daily wage labourers, were away when the incident took place.
When they returned home, the mother came to know of the incident. She informed her husband and they lodged a police complaint, Latheef said.Link: 5-year-old raped by 63-year-old migrant
