MARGAO: The Margao police on Monday arrested two persons in connection with the rape of a minor girl in a ice cream parlour and hunt is one for two more accused. A 20-year old bus conductor, Wassim Kalaigar, a resident of Rumdamol, Davorlim, and the owner of the ice cream parlour, Raghavendra Pujari, are cooling their heels in the police lock-up, while the victim has been rescued and sent to the children's protective home, Apna Ghar, Merces.
Police sources informed that on September 26, 2012, an unidentified person took the minor girl to Panaji and after confining her to his house in Porvorim raped her. He later handed over the victim to another unidentified person who took her to Miramar beach and molested her. After confining her to his house until October 6, he brought the minor to Margao and left her at the KTC bus stand. While at the KTC bus stand, Kalaigar (who has been arrested) made acquaintance with the minor and took her to an ice cream parlour at Margao, where he too raped her. Kalaigar then brought her back to the KTC bus stand, Margao from where she went back to Panaji.
"On knowing about her plight, a family brought her to Margao and dropped her at her residence," Dy SP Mohan Naik, told reporters.
Police said that more details about the case will be known only after the two more accused are nabbed.Link: Minor gang-raped in different places in Goa
