INDORE: A two-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Baghakheda village in Ratlam districton Sunday. The girl child, who is in a critical condition, is being treated. This is yet another incident of rape of child in five days in the state. Last week, a five-year-old girl child was raped and murdered in Indore city by her foster father.
ASP Tilak Singh said Hansi (named changed) was playing in front of her house when three youths, relative of victim's neighbour, passed by. They shared chips with the baby to which her family members did not object.
One of them picked the baby and carried the girl to a deserted place and raped the girl close to house of girl's family. Subsequently, they fled the scene.
It came to the family's notice only when they heard her screaming. Long after struggling to understand her problem, they found that she was bleeding profusely. They rushed her to a hospital.
They later lodged a complaint with the Jaora police station near the industrial area.
Of the three accused, Somesh, Lokendra and Naresh, the police arrested Somesh. The other two are at large. Somesh and Lokendra are residents of Jaora town and Naresh is the resident of Indore. The police have booked them under relevant sections of the IPC. The search is on for the other two accused.
