In today's age, it's extremely crucial for girls to be educated about their own health, about the power they can exercise against injustice. "Girls, specifically those on the threshold of puberty need to know the hormonal changes their body goes through. They are about to enter a new phase in their lives and they must not be hesitant or scared to understand this change; they need to be healthy and active. This transition from being a girl to a woman is extremely delicate and crucial and hence the right kind of proactive counseling and care must be taken to impart this knowledge and understanding among girls," said Archana Patil a practicing gynecologist.
At Gateway of India, Prashant Nadar, a physically challenged individual and a member of Swabhimaan Sanghatana participated in a swimathon of 42 kms thus dedicating his swimming feat to women.
Shakuntala Ushir, a practicing advocate who also provided counseling said, "Women have so much authority and power; they just need to be educated on the rights they can exercise in situations where they are exploited. We will hopefully see a better tomorrow."
