CHATRA (JHARKHAND): A man and his wife were axed to death at Katiadiah village in Chatra district and the woman's brother was on Saturday arrested in this connection, the police said.
Karu Ganju and his wife Bebiya Devi were found dead in their house this morning, Superintendent of Police Anup Birtheray told reporters here.
The axe with which they had been killed late last night was left in the room where the couple slept, he said, adding Devi's brother Rajendra Ganju was arrested in this connection.
The couple fell in love before they had married and the police suspect it could be the reason behind their killing, the police officer said.
