CHENNAI: A 62-year-old man murdered his 55-year-old wife at Sriperumbudur on Tuesday following a verbal duel.
Police teams have been formed to nab the man who is believed to have gone hiding at his relatives place in Tirupathi.
Durai had reunited with his wife Ranjitham a couple of days ago after Ranjitham left him following a quarrel. On Tuesday, Durai and his wife started quarreling again after which Durai murdered her.
The murder came to light when Ranjitham's son returned home from work on Tuesday evening. He found that his parents' house was locked from outside. When he managed to get inside, he found his mother in a pool of blood.
On information, Sriperumbudur police rushed to the spot and sent Ranjitham's body to the government hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
