Dec 10, 2012: Youth held for raping minor on pretext of marriage

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A 25-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl on the pretext of marrying her at Saidpura village in the district, police said today.

The victim, who had an affair with the accused, identified as Saleem, eloped with him three months ago following which the victim's mother lodged an complaint against him, they said.

Later, the police recovered the girl who alleged that she was raped by the accused on a number of occasions on the pretext of marriage, police said.

Further probes into the case are on, they added.
