May 16, 2012: 65-yr-old held for raping minor in Mapusa

MAPUSA: A 65-year-old man was arrested by the Mapusa police for raping a minor girl on Tuesday.

The Mapusa police said that the nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 65-year-old neighbour. After the girl admitted this to her family on Tuesday, the family members lodged a complaint with the Mapusa police. The victim girl told the police that she was sexually abused by her neighbour since April this year.

Based on the complaint, the police registered an offence and arrested the accused. Further investigation is in progress.
