PALANPUR: Two minor sisters were saved from clutches of the priest of Harneshwar Mahadeo temple in Kadhi Vadali area in Ambaji on Monday. The two sisters were on their way to the market when the 35-year-old priest caught hold of them and forced them into his room. He shut the room from inside and tried to molest the girls.
However, the nine-year-old girl mustered courage and succeeded in setting herself free. She started crying loudly for help. The scared priest, Ajaygiri Surajgiri Bavaji, let the second girl also go and shut himself in the room.
A huge crowd gathered outside and broke the door open. They handed over the priest to police. The priest has been arrested for kidnapping and outraging the modesty of girls following a complaint lodged by the father of the girls.
