JAIPUR: A man allegedly killed his wife by smashing her head against the wall of his house in Kardhani area on Wednesday. The accused was arrested a few hours after the incident.
The incident took place in the morning when the accused, Om Prakash Raigar (38), picked up a quarrel with his wife Dwarika (32). Later, the accused strangulated the woman and also smashed her head against a wall in the house. He continued smashing her head until the woman fainted, police said.
"The man was asking his wife to wear a special kind of locket. When she refused, he beat her up brutally," said Sharat Kaviraj, DCP (west).
Soon after the murder, he told his three children that their mother was dead and left home along with kids late in the night. When he was nabbed by the night patrolling team, his elder son told the police that his father was fleeing after killing his mother. The police took him to Kardhani police station.
In the morning, when the brother of the woman visited her house he was stunned to find her in a pool of blood. A team of police and forensic experts also rushed to the spot. The accused used to work as a construction worker in and around Jhotwara and Kardhani locality.
