MANIPAL: Konkan Railway police on Monday arrested five residents of Kerala, said to be armed forces personnel on charges of trying to outrage the modesty and misbehaving with fellow women railway passengers on board train 12618 Mangala Express. Acting on a complaint from Gracy D'Souza (62), resident of Andheri West, Mumbai, who was travelling with family members, railway police arrested Sujith T V of Mallapuram district, Deepesh of Kasargod district, Anandan K, Allepey district, Santhosh of Calicut district, and Deepesh V K of Kozhikode district.
The accused, part of a group of around 12 passengers, speaking Malayalam, allegedly misbehaved with Gracy and her sister twice while travelling in S10 coach, once on September 4 while the train was passing through Nashik, and again on September 5 when the train was nearing Baindoor in Udupi district. The accused were later released on bail.
