LUCKNOW: The case of alleged gang-rape and illegal confinement of a 19-year-old girl in Auraiya involving the sitting Samajwadi Party(SP) MLA Madan Singh Gautam took a curious turn on Monday when the alleged victim reached the district court to get her statement recorded before a district court. Her statements however could not be recorded as the designated magistrate was on leave. The victim will now be produced before the court on Tuesday.
The SP MLA on the other hand continued to maintain that he did not know the girl at all and that the entire case was a plant by his political rivals. Auraiya police chief Sanjay Kakkar confirmed that the victim had submitted a sworn affidavit on Sunday saying that she was kept in captivity at the MLA's house for nearly four months since May 25 where she was raped repeatedly.
In her affidavit, Neelu (not her real name), a resident of Kothi Jana locality in Ajeetmal police circle, stated that she was kidnapped at gun point on May 25, 2012 by two men driving a white Scorpio.
