NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old residing in his neighborhood in Sultanpuri, outer Delhi. Shailendra Kumar spotted the girl in his lane when she was going to a shop. He got her to accompany her on pretext of buying her chocolates and took her to a park where he allegedly forced himself on her. He also beat her up when she protested. He then fled leaving his young victim behind.
The girl was found by a passerby who took her home. She narrated the incident to her parents who approached police. A case was registered after medical examination of the girl and a team was sent to arrest Kumar. He has been sent to judicial custody.
