RAJKOT: A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by two persons in Upleta town of Rajkot district. Police have arrested VishalPopat (19), who runs a canteen at the bus depot, and a water pouch vendor NirubhaJadeja for the crime.
Sources said Popat had repeatedly raped the victim in a toilet at the bus depot in Upleta over the last 15 days. Having come to know about it, Jadeja had also followed him and raped her.
The victim's mother on coming to know about the incident, got her admitted to a hospital and approached the police. "We have arrested the accused and will seek their remand for further investigation,'' sub-inspector R H Jadeja of Upleta police station said.
