GURGAON: A youth who eloped with a 16-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her was arrested on Friday morning. Police have rescued the girl. As the girl refused to stay with her parents, a city court sent her to Nari Niketan after recording her statement under 164 CrPC.
The accused was sent in 14-day judicial custody.
A woman from Bheem Nagar had lodged a complaint with the city police on Wednesday that Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Shiv Colony, Farrukhnagar, eloped with his minor daughter on the pretext of marrying her. City police have lodged an FIR against Rakesh under Sections 363 and 366 of IPC.
