BARWANI: A fourteen-year-old girl was today set afire allegedly by her brother because she refused to obey him at Upla village under Rajpur police station jurisdiction.
The girl, Geeta, wanted to go to the market with her friends, but Munna, her brother, asked her not to go, police said.
As she paid no heed to her and stepped out, he allegedly dragged her inside the house, tied her to a cot, and set her on fire after pouring kerosene over her, police said.
By the time neighbours came to her rescue, she had suffered 80 percent burn injuries.
While the girl is in the hospital, the brother has been arrested.
