GHAZIABAD: In the third such incident in as many days, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in a moving car by a neighbour and his friends in Noida, police said.
The woman, who was travelling to Gurgaon in search of a job, was offered a lift by her neighbour Vinay Sharma yesterday. He drove her to Noida where he asked her to board another car in which his three of his friends were seated, they said.
The four then allegedly drugged her and gang-raped her in the moving car, they said.
The woman was dumped near village Hoshiyarpur in Noida Sector 51 where she was later spotted by locals who took her to a hospital, Noida SP Anant Dev said.
Noida Police, however, refused to register a case since the woman was abducted in Ghaziabad. Yesterday evening, she was sent to Vijay Nagar police station where a case against the four accused was registered.
Police has registered a case under sections 364 and 376 of IPC against the four accused, who have been absconding.
On March 9, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly abducted when she was waiting for a bus with her child at Bajghera village in Gurgaon and raped.
Another 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in a flat in Gurgaon on March 11.
