Mysore: Strict parenting took a shocking new turn in Mysore on Wednesday. A class seven student was forced to beg in front of a temple by none her own father as a punishment for getting poor marks in exams.
When the police learnt of the incident they summoned the 12-year-old's father, who claimed that it was an effort to make his daughter realise the hardships of life.
The father of the girl is a coffee planter and has been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act based on an NGO's complaint. He is now out on bail while the girl is now with the Child Welfare Committee.
