FEROZEPUR: In an embarrassing development for the Congress party in the state, Malkit Singh, who contested assembly election against SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal from Jalalabad constituency, was caught with a prostitute in a hotel room on Sunday and has been charged under immoral trafficking act.
The local police arrested 10 persons, including five girls, during raids at two private hotels, situated in Cantonment area.
Hardial Singh Mann, SSP, Ferozepur said, following a tip-off that some hotels in the Cantonment area were indulging in immoral trafficking, a team led by Raghubir Singh, SP (D) raided two hotels, Green Hotel and Deluxe Green Hotel and reportedly caught six couples.
The accused have been identified as Malkit Singh (Congress leader), a police officer Gurbachan Singh, Sunny, a resident of Jalalabad, Sanju of Guruhar Sahai, Satnam Singh of Naurang ke Syal village.
The police have also arrested two hotel owners including Narinder Kumar alias Sweety andAshok Kumar Garg.
A case under various sections of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956 has been registered against the accused in the Cantonment police station.Link: Congress leader caught with prostitute in hotel room
