MUMBAI: A 25-year-old youth who under pretext of marrying a 20-year-old girl raped her repeatedly and made her pregnant was arrested by the Cuffe Parade police on Saturday.
The accused identified as Arnald Das Lajraj was arrested on Saturday on the charges of rape and threats and was produce before the 8th Metropolitan Magistrate which remanded him to police custody till June 20. The complaint was filed by victim's aunt who is a resident of Indira Nagar in Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai.
According to the police, the victim and accused are resident of the same area. The rape was discovered only after six months as the victim became pregnant. When her aunt asked her how she became pregnant she narrated her ordeal. She said that September last year and was alone at home when Lajras came drunked and forced himself on her and raped her. And than he continued raping and threatening her till May this year.
The victim also said that she aborted the child in one of the clinic in Kurla area.According to the police, the victim and accused are resident of the same area. The rape was discovered only after six months as the victim became pregnant. When her aunt asked her how she became pregnant she narrated her ordeal. She said that September last year and was alone at home when Lajras came drunked and forced himself on her and raped her. And than he continued raping and threatening her till May this year.
