BHOPAL: Unable to take rejection of his marriage proposal from the girl he was in relationship with for the past three years, a jilted lover uploaded obscene picture of her on Facebook. Shahpura police registered a case under IT act in this regard late on Saturday.
The accused, Aman Sharma alias Shahzaib hails from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. He met the 22-year-old girl, a resident of Bharat Nagar, Bhopal, during a train journey around three years ago. He had then introduced himself as Aman Sharma and befriended the girl, who was coming with her aunt from Dehradun after appearing for an interview, the police said.
Soon they entered into a relationship and the boy even worked in Bhopal for some time. After they decided to get married, the accused took the girl to introduce her to his family in Muzaffarnagar. There, she came to know that his real name was Shahzaib and he had concealed his identity. Shocked by this, she decided to part ways. But the accused was reportedly not ready to accept her decision. He came to Bhopal in April this year and pressurized the girl for marriage. He even attempted suicide, but the girl remained firm on her decision. Later, in a bid to settle scores with her, Shahzaib created a fake profile on the Facebook and loaded the girl's morphed picture.
When she came to know about it, the girl lodged a complaint with the police after which a case was registered. When the police officials called the boy, the accused allegedly told them that he had political influence. A police team is now expected to go to Muzaffarnagar with the victim to trace the accused.
