CHENNAI: A 39-year-old man was found dead behind his house in Surapet near Ambattur on Friday morning.
Police said head of the deceased Jayaseelan of Madura Mettur was found smashed near Surapet.
Eyewitnesses have told police that Jayaseelan, who worked as a coolie, fought with his wife Rose on Thursday night. He also seemed drunk. Police have taken Rose and another neighbour for questioning.
Jayaseelan's body has been sent to Stanley Medical College Hospital (SMCH) for autopsy. Jayaseelan and Rose have two daughters and a son. Their daughters Nandhini and Santhi are married.
Ambattur police have registered a murder case under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code and further investigations are on.
