BELGAUM: Asking her family for Rs 100 proved costly for 55-year-old Gangavva Shivanappa Benachinamardi. They set her ablaze on Friday evening at Chandan Hosur village of Belgaum taluk.
She has been hospitalized with 20% per cent burns on her face and chest.
Following a complaint registered by the victim,Bagewadi police arrested her son Balesh, daughter-in-law Bhagyashri, her motherSatyawwa and brother Parashuram.
Gangavva told police that when she asked her son for Rs 100, the family ganged up on her and poured kerosene and tried to set her afire. Gangavva is being treated at BIMS Hospital.
A case has been registered at Bagewadi police station.
