PANCHKULA: A jilted lover thrashed his 'girlfriend' at her showroom in Sector 7, for being "unfaithful" to him. The youth, identified as Aman, 26, a resident of Chandigarh, has been arrested. The complainant, Preeti, 24, who is a resident of Baltana, owns an aquarium showroom. "Aman has been after the girl ever since he came to her showroom. He had even proposed to the girl.
The couple have been going around for years and Aman often used to visit the girl's showroom," said Kashmeera Singh, in charge of the police post in Sector 7. Singh added, "Though the girl in her complaint said that she had refused when the boy had proposed to her but when we investigated, it came to light that Aman was angry over her being disloyal to him."
The girl in her complaint has written that she was beaten up by Aman six months ago too at her showroom and she had complained to the police but no action was taken.
"On Saturday, when Aman came to the girl's showroom and saw two boys sitting there, he thrashed her publicly. The girl told him that they were her brother's friends and when the two intervened Aman threatened them too," added the officer.
When Preeti called up her brother Prince to her showroom, Aman still did not stop his aggressive ways. When the girl called up the police, Aman tried to flee but was nabbed as the police was nearby.
"The accused on questioning said that the two had been seeing each other and that he felt cheated when he saw the girl with someone else. He also said that he had come to know that his girlfriend was unfaithful to him," said Singh.
Aman, who was produced in court on Saturday was sent to judicial custody.
