Jaipur: Unknown assailants chopped off a hand and legs of a 70-year-old woman to rob silver anklets and bangles she was wearing, leaving her dead in Tonk district late on Saturday. Using sharp edged weapon, the assailants killed the elderly woman and fled with the valuables, police said.

The victim, Kesho Devi, was found dead in a pool of blood on Sunday morning by her family members. Her ailing husband and others were sleeping in a farm and she was alone in the house when the assailants attacked her.

Irate locals protested and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. They were later pacified by senior officers, who assured them of action.
