GUNTUR/NARASARAOPET: A lorry cleaner allegedly killed a woman in Narasaraopet on Sunday for refusing to continue the relationship with him. Shaik Abdulla, who developed an extramarital relation with Mogili Bullemma, 19, four months ago, reportedly slit her throat.

Bullemma, a daily wager, was rushed to the government hospital in Guntur where she was declared brought dead. She was living alone in SRKT Colony after her husband deserted her two years ago.

According to the police, Abdulla was upset after Bullemma told him not to visit her again. Enraged over this, Abdulla went to her house on Sunday morning and attacked her with a sharp blade. He left the spot after committing the crime as the woman shouted for help. Three special teams are on the job to nab Abdulla.

In another incident, a cop tried to attack a girl at Kondalaraonagar in old Guntur in the late hours of Friday for her refusal to marry him. AR constable Ch Kumar Babu has been pressurising the girl to accept his love and marry him. When Kumar threatened the girl showing his weapon, she raised an alarm.

Locals gathered and tried to catch the constable, who fled from the spot. In the hurry he left his weapon. The family members took the weapon to urban SP Syam Sunder and lodged a complaint.

Meanwhile, rural SP A Ravi Chandra placed Kumar under suspension as the accused cop is working with the rural police. A case was booked against the constable, who was arrested. Kumar was deputed for security duty for YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, who is touring the district.
