VISAKHAPATNAM: The famed Andhra University found itself embroiled in another controversy when a junior assistant of AU employees' union cooperative society on Thursday lodged a complaint against four of its directors on an allegation of sexual harassment and abuse in the name of caste.
The junior assistant, a resident of Madhavadhara, lodged the complaint at the III Town police station, 24 hours after she was suspended. She was suspended along with another employee for manhandling a sweeper a few days back.
Police registered a case against society directors. A police official said they would investigate the case from all angles before bringing charges against the directors.
