GAYA: Police have finally captured Lotan Yadav, an auto driver and main accused in the infamous foreigner rape case in which a 25-year-old Japanese tourist was gang-raped by five persons at Amwan village near Bodh Gaya on April 16, 2010.
"With the arrest of Lotan, a resident of Amwan, from his relative's place in remote Jharna village under the Mohanpur police station area, all the five accused in the case have been nabbed," Gaya SSP Vinay Kumar said.
On October 28 this year, police arrested Ranjan Yadav, another accused, from the Paraiya police station area. The SSP said Lotan and Ranjan would be put on speedy trial. Three of the five accused have already been awarded life term by district and sessions judge J K Sen.
The gang rape victim had left for Japan after getting her statement recorded by a first class judicial magistrate on April 20, 2010.
