JAIPUR: A man has been arrested along with his son in Dholpur for strangulating to death his 17-year-old daughter over her affair with a boy. The duo dumped her body in the toilet of a school and registered an FIR against the girl's boyfriend claiming that he had killed the girl.
According to the police, the incident took place in Singhwali village under Sadar police station area.
"The body of the girl, Sunhari Kumari, was recovered from the toilet of government secondary school by its sanitary staff on October 11," SP, Dholpur, Rahul Prakash said.
He added that an FIR was registered by the family members of the girl against a youth, identified as Than Singh, claiming that the latter killed the girl after she rejected his friendship proposal.
On the basis of the FIR, the police rounded up the youth and quizzed him. "But during interrogation, it came up that allegations against him were bogus. Then we put the girl's father Jagmohan and his son Mukesh under scanner," the officer added.
"We then detained Jagmohan and quizzed him. During interrogation, he confessed to strangulating the girl with the help of his son. Both were arrested by the police," the officer added.
Both had allegedly took the body to the school's toilet and hid it there. "It is a case of honour killing as the girl wanted to marry Than Singh who lives in the neighbourhood. The father told her to stay away from the youth, but she did not follow his instructions. Irked over this, he murdered the girl," the officer added.
He said that both girl and the youth were from Rajput community.
