Hyderabad/NIZAMABAD: A 16-year-old girl was drugged and repeatedly gang raped by four youths for over a fortnight. This shocking incident came to light on Friday, after the locals rescued the girl from a house in Nagaram area on the outskirts of Nizamabad.
Sources said the girl, hailing from Mosampur village in Sadasivnagar mandal, was held captive in a house by one Mohd Afzal, who introduced her as his wife to house owner Afsar Khan. "During day time, the accused used to heavily sedate her by injecting drugs, and during night, he would rape her. The youths have been indulging in this barbaric act for the last 15 days," a police official said.
Afzal, along with his three associates used to come back to the room at night and go away late in the morning after injecting her with drugs and locking the door from outside. The heinous crime came to light only after the girl raised an alarm. Locals and some political party activists came to her rescue and handed her over to the police. The girl was found without clothes in the room.
Police said the accused used to take away all her clothes to prevent her from escaping from the house. Soon after the police entered, the accused fled from the spot. Porn VCDs, syringes, two mobile phones and a diary were recovered from the room.
Police registered a case and launched a manhunt for the four accused. The girl was taken to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, some women's groups demanded stringent punishment for the rapists, and staged protests in front of the house.
