Nov 3, 2011: Woman gang raped on Jaipur-Delhi highway

JAIPUR: A woman was gang raped by three men, including her 'male companion' at Chandwaji village in Jaipur on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The victim, a divorcee was promised marriage by the accused Prakash Gurjar. She agreed to accompany him from Sodala to the village on the Jaipur-Delhi highway.
"Both had worked together for a catering firm. After reaching, Chandwaji, the accused invited two of his friends to the place where the trio, after getting drunk, raped the woman in turns," said Vineet Bansal, additional superintendent of police, Jaipur (rural).
"Later, they left the woman in the jungle and fled," the officer said.
After regaining consciousness, the victim went to Chandwaji police station, and narrated the event.
"We have sent her for medical examination. Preliminary reports suggest she was raped," he said.
On Wednesday morning, the police arrested Prakash and one of his friends Rakesh Gurjar, and registered a case against them under Section 376 of IPC.
"The hunt for the third accused is on," Bansal added.
