NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly molested on Tuesday night at Dwarka in southwestDelhi. The woman, an airhostess with Jet Airways, alleged that she was forced to listen to obscene conversation by a cab driver while she was on her way to work. The accused, identified as Jeetendra Singh, was arrested after the victim called up her duty manager and even raised an alarm when she spotted cops on patrol.
IGI airport sources said Singh was an employee with the agency that organizes transportation of employees of the private airline. "The accused has been driving cabs for the past six years. We are inquiring if he was involved in similar incidents before," said the officer.
Additional DCP (PRO) Rajan Bhagat said over 20 drivers — some of whom have police verification —have been arrested so far for dereliction of duty, not dropping women employees at their homes or misbehaving with them.
Airlines outsource cab duty to private companies that take care of airport transfers.
