On the complaint of the village guard, police have lodged a case of murder against the victim's father, uncle and three other family members.

The victim was identified as Puja, daughter of Iqbal Singh alias Jay Singh, a resident of Hasanpur village.

According to reports, Puja and her elder sister Jyoti's marriage was fixed by their father Iqbal Singh with two brothers of Uthi village in Parilikshit Garh police station area. The marriage was supposed to be solemnised on Friday. However, both Puja and Jyoti refused to marry.
