BANGALORE: A City Armed Reserve constable has been arrested by Bangalore Rural police for allegedly abetting a youth in sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.
The arrested CAR constable has been identified as Chikkanna, 52, a resident of Badamanahalli, Rajanukunte.
According to police, Ghanashyam, the main accused, used to constantly harass the girl.
Ghanshyam works as a teacher in a private school at Badamanahalli and is very close to Chikkanna. It is alleged that he allegedly raped the victim and Chikkanna encouraged him to continue to misbehave with the girl.
The girl's parents claimed that Ghanashyam told their daughter that he would marry her. He then went missing.
The family lodged a complaint against Ghanashyam and Chikkanna. The police are searching for Ghanashyam.
