SIRSA: Police arrested two people for allegedly kidnapping, gang-raping and killing a four-year-old girl in Sirsa district of Haryana.
The police said the accused arrested on Sunday were drug addicts. They committed the crime on Saturday.
A police officer investigating the incident said that the accused threw the girl in a sewage pond after raping her. The victim's body was recovered from the pond on Monday.
The police on Saturday registered a case against accused, Vikas and Pawan, both daily wage labourers.
The victim was kidnapped by them on Saturday afternoon while she was playing near her house. Another girl who was playing with her told the parents about the kidnapping. Her parents went to the police on Saturday evening after they had failed to find her and named the two accused. The accused were neighbors of the victim.
"When we asked Pawan about the whereabouts of the girl he told us that how he and Vikas threw the girl in sewage pond water after raping her," a police officer said.
