NEW DELHI: The big, bad capital is not safe even for cops. A policewoman and two others were molested inside a low floor DTC bus on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old woman constable was not in uniform, yet she did her duty and nabbed the 39-year-old man after a scuffle and short chase. The accused was arrested and has been identified as Achhe Lal, a resident of Mandawali area in east Delhi, a senior police officer said.
The incident was reported from Anand Vihar, east Delhi around 3.45pm. Police said, the woman cop and two other women were travelling in the bus plying on route number 374 from Dilshad Garden to Nehru Place.
As per witnesses, the accused had been misbehaving with two other women since the beginning of his journey. When he grabbed the woman constable by her hand and tried to molest her, she kicked him in his stomach and pinned him down, said a police officer.
