KANPUR: The district and sessions judge OP Verma on Friday convicted Ajay Kashyap, a resident of Govind Nagar for dowry death and sentenced him for ten years of rigorous imprisonment. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 7000.
The accused married Kiran in 2005. He was unemployed and forced his wife to bring Rs. 10,000 from her mother. Kiran hanged herself on November 12, 2006 when she could not bear the mental and physical torture. Her mother lodged a complaint against Ajay.
