FARIDABAD: A man allegedly set his wife on fire after she refused to give him divorce in Mujeshar village in the district, police said here today.
Meherchand poured kerosene on Malti and set her ablaze when she was alone at her mother's home, police said, adding, he then fled from the scene.
On hearing her screams, neighbors came and doused the fire and rushed her to hospital with severe burns, they said.
Police has lodged a case against Meherchand and started investigation.
