YAMUNANAGAR: Sudhir Saini, who stabbed the brother of his ex-girlfriend to death and left her mother grievously injured, was arrested on Wednesday night and sent in two-day police remand a day later. Although he confessed to killing Vikram Sawhney and injuring his mother Shashi Sawhney on Tuesday, he said his action was only in self-defence as Vikarm was assaulting him.
Sudhir told media persons in the judicial complex that he had gone to meet his girlfriend on her request and met her on the rooftop. "Her mother came there and started shouting at me, making Vikram come up. I did not say even a word till they started thrashing me after dragging me to a room downstairs."
Shashi Sawhney, who suffered stab wounds in the incident, is still admitted in PGIMER, Chandigarh.
