NEW DELHI: A juvenile rape victim, who felt humiliated after being forced by her family to go for a compromise, has reportedly hatched amurder plot with three minors to take revenge. However, they failed to complete the task and have been apprehended on an attempt-to-murder charge.
The victim and now an accused, a resident of south Delhi, was allegedly raped a year ago and an FIR was filed but it was withdrawn following a compromise between the two families. Not satisfied, she reportedly hired the three juveniles two months ago. They allegedly assaulted the rape accused, Ajay, 25, on August 12 but he survived. He filed an FIR with the police, alleging that the girl and the three others - who he identified - had assaulted him. The south district police has now lodged a case against the rape victim and the three others.
Cops apprehended the three accused on October 12 on the basis of the complaint. "We have registered a case under Section 308 of IPC (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and the three accused, who are juveniles, have been sent to a home in north Delhi," said a senior police officer. Sources said the girl, still a juvenile, would be taken into custody and sent to a rehab home. DCP (south) Chhaya Sharma confirmed the incident but refused to comment, saying the police are investigating the case.
Sources said the girl had earlier filed an FIR, accusing Ajay, a resident of a south Delhi area, of raping her. "They knew each other from before but Ajay allegedly assaulted her sexually by making false promises. As both families knew each other, they tried to bury the matter and reached a compromise. The FIR was eventually withdrawn. But the girl hatched this plan to punish the accused in her own way," said the source.
The cops did not confirm if any money actually changed hands but sources said the juveniles were promised monetary rewards.
