PANCHKULA: Two days after a 24-year-old girl was found murdered in Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) area, Panchkula police on Friday claimed to have solved the case by arresting two youths Sunil and Babloo, who were allegedly involved in the murder.
According to sources in police, Pooja's boyfriend Sunil had murdered her with the help of his friend Babloo by strangulating her. Pooja was having an affair with Sunil for the past three years and was pressing him to marry her, added sources. Sunil was the driver of a bus hired by Vardhaman Factory where the deceased also worked.
Police arrested the accused from Sector 20, when they were about to flee Bihar.
They will be produced in the court tomorrow.
On October 19 Suman, a resident of Bhainsa Tibba village in MDC area found Pooja murdered near an under-construction shop in the wee hours of the morning.
"Several times the couple had a tiff over the issue of marriage. One day Sunil called Pooja to meet him at 11pm. There he had a talk with her for about 15 minutes in which the topic of marriage arose again and later turned into a fight, following which he strangulated her with her dupatta. For about one-and-a-half hour they kept the body with them in the bus and around 2.30am they threw her body near the shops," said sub-inspector Deepak Kumar.
