Oct 19, 2011: Jailed youth's acidic revenge on woman

Indore: A maniac youth, who was sent to jail for teasing a girl over an year ago, threw acid at her mother in Chandan Nagar area on Tuesday morning. The accused is still at large.

The incident occurred around 11.30 am when 36-year-old Neha, wife of Mahesh Sitlani, a resident of Dwarkapuri, was washing the floor of her house. Amin, 35, a resident of Chheepa Bakhal in Malharganj area, barged into the house holding a pot and poured acid at the woman from behind.
As Neha felt extreme pain on her face and other body parts, she screamed and turned back only to notice Amin fleeing outside the house.
Hearing the screams of the woman, neighbours and residents of the locality rushed to the spot and immediately took the victim to the district hospital.
After learning about the incident, the police reached the spot and launched a search.
The victim sustained 35 per cent burns in the acid attack and was admitted to a private hospital where her condition was reported stable.
"The accused was sent behind bars for teasing the 18-year-old daughter of the victim around a year ago" Chandan Nagar police station incharge Pavan Mishra told DNA.
The accused Amin used to work at bookbinding unit situated opposite the house of victim in Chandan Nagar area and had once passed some comments at Neha's daughter, he said.
The accused had to serve jail term for his offence. He committed the crime to avenge the old incident.
A case of attempt to murder was registered at the Chandan Nagar police station and a search is on to nab the culprit.
