BANGALORE: A 40-year-old woman - mother of three children - was allegedly gang-raped by three unidentified men while she was walking home alone at Nayanadahalli, Chandra Layout, late on Sunday. To add to that, the culprits robbed the victim of all her gold jewellery and cash before leaving her in that state.

Her statement said two men blocked her way near Ganesha temple in Nayandahalli at 11.30pm when she alighted from a bus. "They threatened me of dire consequences if I resisted. I was taken to an isolated corner near a building and one of the accused called his friend on them mobile, asking him to join them," her statement said. Then all the three raped her and fled after snatching her gold chain weighing 30 grams and Rs 4,000 in cash.

DCP-West S N Sidramappa said she works in a garment factory and lives alone at Nayandanahalli. "Her family is in Mandya and she visits them every weekend. She had gone to Mandya on Saturday and returned to Bangalore by a bus on Sunday night," he said. Police have filed a rape case and are on the lookout for the trio. "The victim says she can identify the accused," policemen added.
