C B Pandey, who proclaimed to be a doctor, was originally a Homoeopathic pharmacist with Uttar Pradesh Roadways, police said. He had been operating from a clinic in Krishna nagar area in Chakeri for many years.
Pandey is accused of molesting the 18-year-old girl, daughter of a businessman in Dehli's Sujanpur area, who had approached him with a stomach ailment. She was accompanied by her mother to the clinic.
On knowing about the incident, the girl's family members and neighbours beat Pandey up before handing him over to the police.
A case has been registered and he is in police custody.
Kanpur: A quack was arrested on Friday for allegedly molesting an 18-year-old girl who had gone to his clinic for a check-up, police said.
