PATNA: A minor girl from Balia district (Uttar Pradesh) Neena (name changed) was allegedly raped by two youths in a hotel close to Barh railway station on Saturday night.
GRP sources said that Neena along with her mother was on way to Patna from Balia for treatment. Sources said that Neena got down from the train thinking that she has reached Patna when the train stopped at Barh railway station on Saturday night.
Barh Government Railway Police station (GRP) SHO Ramdeo Prasad said that when she inquired about the station, some of the passengers told her that she had landed at Barh railway station, not Patna Junction.
He said that as she was waiting for another train to reach Patna Junction, two local youths trapped her and took her to a nearby hotel and raped her.
Prasad said that as the girl was weeping and was sitting alone near Barh station premises, some GRP men asked her the reason for crying and brought her to Barh GRP station as it was not safe to leave the girl alone in night.
The SHO said that the girl narrated the entire trauma she had undergone and identified her tormentors. One of the alleged rapists, Raju Mian, has been arrested, Prasad said and added that medical examination of the victim was carried out. Raids were on to arrest the other culprit, he said and added that the girl's family had been informed about her presence at the GRP station.
