PANAJI: Three minor girls were molested on Friday morning in a government school premises at Nagoa in Bardez taluka. The incident occurred at 7.45am when the students, aged between 8 and 10, were waiting outside the school. "Classes were to start at 8am.
"They came early to school and as the classrooms were locked, were waiting outside," police sources said. "According to the victims a young man approached them and asked them why they had not cleaned the toilets properly. When the girls objected, he asked them to accompany him to the toilet behind the school. The girls timidly walked with him to the toilet," sources said.
Once they entered the toilet, the accused pushed a 10-year-old girl on the floor, pulled up her school uniform and tried to sleep on top of her. "The minor protested and cried for help. Seeing this, the other two girls started crying loudly for help. This upset the accused and he slapped the two girls," sources said. The girls continued screaming and a sweeper who had arrived at the school heard them. "On seeing the sweeper approaching the toilet, the accused ran from the spot," sources said.
Anjuna police have registered a molestation case against an unknown person. Based on the description provided by the girls, police suspect the accused could be a college student. "The girls have described the accused as young with a short stature. They also said he was dark complexioned with big eyes. He had come on a white bike and had a bag on his shoulder," police added.
