The deceased has been identified as Muttappa Kuri (32) and his wife Uma Kuri (28). Muttappa Kuri was working as a teacher in the government high school in Belahoda village in Gadag taluk. They belonged to Belavanki village of Rona taluk. Both Muttappa and Uma were in love and got married two years ago. They were residing in a rented house in Gadag.
In his suicide note, Muttappa said that Uma's parents and family were allegedly pestering him over petty issues which led to differences between them.
He decided to take the extreme step after stranguling his wife, said police. Gadag town police have registered a case.
HUBLI: A teacher hanged himself in his house after strangling his wife to death in the wee hours of Sunday in Sarvodaya colony in Gadag.
